We went off for a walk in the Waitakare's today, at Little Huia Dam.  We realised 30 minutes into the bush that we had made all the classic amatuer trekking mistakes - no map, no warm clothes, no water, no food, no good trekking shoes or clothes (I was wearing a sun-dress and sandshoes).  We didn't even know how long the trail was.
